Aero Energy Sponsors Steam Into History

Because Aero Energy is a bronze sponsor of Steam Into History, all Aero customers and employees get 10% off Steam Into History excursions! Steam Into History operates a 2 1/2 hour train ride from New Freedom, PA to Hanover Junction and 1 hour trips from New Freedom to Glen Rock, PA. Motive power is provided by the “York,” a faithful reproduction of a typical American Standard engine common on North American railroads in the mid to late 19th Century. 

Upcoming Steam Into History events include: “President Lincoln on the Hanover Junction Flyer” on July 19th, “Wild West Express Featuring The James Younger Gang” on July 21st, “Bring Your Own Picnic” on July 23rd and August 20th, “Princess Days” on July 28th, “A Civil War Weekend” on July 29th and 30th, and “The Wild West Express” which runs every third Saturday from June through September. 

Steam Into History’s engine is more commonly known as a “4-4-0”, referring to its particular wheel scheme. The engine features 4 large leading wheels on two axles, 4 large powered and coupled driving wheels on two axles, and 0 trailing wheels used behind those front eight. Visitors enjoy the Northern Central Railway Locomotive #17’s brilliant bells and whistles echoing down the line and are thrilled by her bright red steel wheels rolling up the tracks.
